I agree...the 830 is a big machine. I think if I ever go the LA or MA way, I'll watch for a used one to become available. I have a hard time paying as much for a sewing machine as I do for a car!shock:

I paid $2000 for my Janome & that was hard to do. I love my baby. I don't think I'd ever pay that much for a machine again. I do love that I have 9" of throat space on the 6600P. I have quilted queen-size quilts on it, but it wasn't easy. If money wasn't so much an issue - I'd definately get a mid-arm like Handi Quilter - the 18" model. It's just the right size & fun!

    Gotta go take pictures!

Those machines are wonderful and I know we would all love to have one, but at the end of the day, most of us are sewing straight seams,and/or occasional embroidery. Its when it comes to the quilting that these babies come into their own. I have decided from now on I am going to Quilt as I go, I do like that method and it works for me. If I am ever lucky enough to win the lottery then I will treat myself but for now I will stay as I am. However I still like to drool over those machines and will be drooling when Lesley gets hers I just know it.

As promised - here is what I bought in Albuquerque. The little bundle is 4 fat eighths. It's so cute!

Hi: Do you mean that there are no block instructions in the Dear Jane book? Just pictures of the blocks?
